We are Isac and Diogo (Creators of GRAUº)
A Lisbon-based ceramics brand that creates finely crafted pieces reflecting the city's heritage and artistic flair.
Amid the uncertainty of these strange new times, Isac Coimbra and Diogo Ferreira left their respective companies in which they worked and, in the face of confinement, working with clay (at home) proved to be a sort of productive therapy, and above all, an invaluable source of tranquillity. This is how GRAUº was born.
With our four-hand production, we made a little studio at home, and we took this moment as an opportunity to reinvent ourselves, using curiosity and commitment as our only certainties. We transformed our isolation into creative emancipation and turned it into concrete pieces, which have already got the brand to leave home, with orders, not only in Portugal, but all over the world.
Modern Tribal
The masks and the rope mobiles were the starting point for GRAUº, which immediately captured the public's attention, but the creative immersion brought out other types of elements, such as pendents, vases, jars and tablewear.
Each piece is handmade, from the initial kneading to the final baking, giving each one an inevitable exclusive personality. Each item is made by manual process and will feature small variations, that make it a unique and unrepeatable piece (and we love it!). Cooked at temperatures that reach up to 1300ºC, our pieces become waterproof and extremely resistant.
GRAUº materializes its pieces in different colored stoneware clay, including black, terracotta and white, with and without glazing, combined with accessories in jute and rope, in a style that we like to call “modern tribal”, with a minimalist and geometric twist. Our work is ready to enhance interior rooms or complement outside spaces, as well as bring joy and creativity to daily life, in a practical and tangible way.
In a near future, GRAUº intends to be able to establish new partnerships as well as attend fairs, markets, events and being in a store near you.
